Two paintings vanished from the Tomorrowland restaurant — “a very honest couple” brought one back
Two of six commissioned canvases disappeared from the restaurant area during the Belgian festival’s first weekend. ‘Love’ has already been returned; for ‘Desire’, organisers have appealed to festivalgoers.
Two paintings — ‘Love’ and ‘Desire’ — disappeared from the restaurant inside Tomorrowland during the festival’s first weekend. They were two of six canvases commissioned specially for the area.

After a public appeal, one of the works came back.
“A very honest couple came by with the Love artwork. They returned it to the Lab of Tomorrow in Boom – we appreciate that enormously,” said festival spokeswoman Debby Wilmsen.
The ‘Desire’ canvas was taken on the final day of weekend one despite security in the area, Belgian outlet Het Nieuwsblad reported. Organisers promised tighter measures for the second weekend, which ran 24–26 July. Wilmsen called it “a compliment that the artworks are appreciated”, but urged the painting’s return so the Consciencia works “could shine for festivalgoers a little longer”. There is still no news of ‘Desire’.
Ahead of that second weekend the festival also had to limit pyrotechnics and drop large-scale fireworks entirely, with code orange in force across nature reserves because of wildfire risk.
As ONE//FM reported earlier, a banner at the same festival gave away Tomorrowland’s plans for 2027 — including a new Las Vegas location.
