DOROFEEVA sang about the light at the end of the tunnel — and was surprised how well it landed

The dance track ‘Add Some Light’ was written before it became this timely. The artist says the brightest songs are made in the darkest times.

DOROFEEVA has released the dance track ‘Add Some Light’ along with a video.

The outlet TabloID wrote about it.

The song is about the state you end up in “under the pressure of falling ceilings” — daily shelling and anxious news — when you start to feel like a coin at the bottom of a fountain and ask more and more often where that light at the end of the tunnel is.

“When my co-writers and I were making this song, we could not even imagine how relevant it would be now. It is about the state we all found ourselves in. About the feeling when the darkness closes in and there is no way out. But inside us there is a strength that keeps us from breaking and leads us to the light,” the artist says.

The track was co-written with Misha Katsurin and Ivan Klymenko — the same pair she would keep working with afterwards.

The video was directed by Ruslan Makhov, who reinforced the song’s message with bright symbols and made the clip emphatically danceable.

The artist puts it briefly herself: the brightest songs are made in the darkest times — and this release only confirms the thought.
