Jessie Ware made her sixth album her own boss: ‘Superbloom’ arrived with a cowboy, Morricone and the first key change of her life
Thirteen tracks, five producers and the estate of Ennio Morricone, who signed off on a quotation from ‘The Good, the Bad and the Ugly’. Ware again stayed her own A&R.
Jessie Ware has released ‘Superbloom’ — her sixth studio album and her first full-length since ‘That! Feels Good!’ in 2023. It came out on 17 April 2026 on EMI Records.
The record was announced on 29 January 2026. Thirteen slots, two of them short interludes: ‘The Garden Prelude’ opens the album at 48 seconds, and ‘Chariots of Love Interlude’ splits it in half at 28. The longest track is ‘16 Summers’ (4:41). The line-up is recorded in the Apple Music catalogue.
As on ‘What’s Your Pleasure?’ (2020), Ware remained her own A&R — that is, she answered for the artistic decisions herself. She brought in five producers: James Ford, Barney Lister, Karma Kid, Jon Shave and Stuart Price. The record was mixed by Ben Baptie.
The singer explains the shift like this: after ‘What’s Your Pleasure?’ she spent a long time playing with a world of fantasy and escapism, and on ‘Superbloom’ she wanted to dig deeper — into real relationships and into gratitude for the love she already has.
The lead single ‘I Could Get Used to This’ came out on 23 January 2026, produced and co-written by Miranda Cooper and Jon Shave of Xenomania together with Sophia Brenan. It contains the first key change of Ware’s career.
The second single, ‘Ride’, arrived on 20 February and opens with a synth quotation of the main theme from ‘The Good, the Bad and the Ugly’ (1966). The estate of Ennio Morricone approved the quotation — Ware called it a genuine seal of approval. It was the first song written for the album: she made it back in 2024 with Jack Peñate and Karma Kid.
The black-and-white video for ‘Ride’ was directed by Thomas James, with the actor James Norton as her cowboy love interest. Ware invited him after running into him at a concert by their mutual friend — that same Peñate.
The Superbloom Tour begins in October 2026. On ONE//FM Jessie Ware is heard in ‘Please’ — a track in which both halves of her career are audible: the chamber soul of the early records and the disco she moved into in 2020.
