Her voice was suspected of being generated: a violinist from a village in the Lviv region has released an eight-minute mini-album
Four tracks on which she is at once the lyricist, the composer and the arranger.
Klavdia Petrivna has released ‘EXIT’ — a mini-album that fits into eight minutes and still manages to tell a whole story.
The Apple Music catalogue records it.
The release came out on 21 May 2026 on the NEBO Music label. Four tracks: ‘Vykhid’ (2:13), ‘Vatra’ (2:26), ‘Akademmistechko’ (2:08) and ‘Starist’ (2:09).
She made the title track entirely on her own: lyrics, music and arrangement are all signed with one name. In the post under the official video the singer dedicated the song to everyone living through their darkest times right now, and signed off as ‘Yours, Klavdia P.’
A year earlier, releasing her previous mini-album ‘Intymna liryka’, she put her position simply.
“For my own people. Not for critics, not for haters, but for those who like what I make. With this album I declare that I will go on creating the way I want.”
Behind the pseudonym stands Solomiia Opryshko, born on 13 August 2005 in the village of Hirne in the Lviv region. She graduated from the Vasyl Barvinsky Music College in Drohobych as a violinist and played in symphonic, chamber and folk orchestras — she came to pop not from the internet but from the orchestra pit.
The pseudonym itself is literary. She took Klavdia Petrivna from a character in the novel ‘Notes of a Snub-Nosed Mephistopheles’ by Volodymyr Vynnychenko.
Theories around the name
Her anonymity at the start of her career produced a whole run of theories. Some sources wrote that the name hid an experienced woman of thirty-five to forty, others that it was a very young girl. There was even a version that Klavdia Petrivna was a special project and her voice had been generated by a neural network.
The singer’s team rather encouraged the confusion: ambiguous descriptions under the official videos fed the talk of artificial intelligence.
Label director Kateryna Shevchenko put it briefly in an interview.
“Klavdia is young and still studying at a music college.”
The singer OSTY explained the choice differently.
“Klavdia Petrivna decided to be an incognito singer not for publicity but out of shyness and fear of disgracing herself in case of failure.”
TikTok brought her quick popularity, and in early 2024 she topped the charts of Ukrainian radio stations with the song ‘Znaidy mene’.
Now that the anonymity is behind her, what remains is what it all started from: eight minutes on which she is her own lyricist, composer and arranger.
