For two months only those in the Palace of Sports knew it: Jerry Heil has released ‘Dark Disco’
Alan Badoiev’s video was shot in eight locations.
Jerry Heil has released the dance track ‘Dark Disco’ together with a video by Alan Badoiev. Listeners waited more than two months for it — that is how long passed since the song was first performed live.
The radio station Lux wrote about it.
A continuation of ‘Dodai huchnosti’
‘Dark Disco’ continues the aesthetic of ‘Turn It Up (12 points)’, the smash that came out in August 2025 and has gathered more than 63 million streams. The artist says it was precisely the mystical retro mood of that track that pushed her towards the new one.
“I always wanted to make something more rhythmic, but I didn’t dare, because I worried whether it suited me. With every new work I allow myself more freedom in music. I want my story to inspire those who are still afraid to be themselves. Right now I’m in the era where I finally want to dance,” Jerry Heil says.
What the director says
The video was shot by Alan Badoiev, who put his vision briefly.
“Dark Disco is a synthesis of rave aesthetics, baroque and gothic. The basis of the video is dance as the main language of the story, and the centre of the clip is almost entirely Jerry Heil herself — her movement, her gaze, her motion.”
The video runs through eight visual locations and nine looks, among them costumes by the Ukrainian labels FROLOV and LuVi. At the climax comes the FREEDOM ballet, already a fixture of Jerry Heil’s videos.
‘Dark Disco’ was first heard on 4 April at her solo show ‘DZHERELO’ at Kyiv’s Palace of Sports, which drew around ten thousand people. With this release the artist declared a new era in her music.
We reported earlier that Jerry Heil filled the Palace of Sports with an orchestra and a ring of light.
