Max Barskih heard his songs sung by others on Fabryka Zirok: “That’s it, I’m taking this version for myself”
The artist visited the contestants of the show’s new season, told them not to be afraid of changing his songs and said he might add the strongest versions to his own set.
Max Barskih
Max Barskih visited the contestants of the new Fabryka Zirok (“Star Factory”) on SWEET.TV to hear what they are doing with his songs. “At times I even wanted to say: that’s it, I’m taking this version for myself,” he wrote under a video of the meeting.
The artist shared this in a video on his YouTube channel.
He is waiting to hear the result on air himself: “It will be interesting to hear what comes out at the prime show.” New episodes come out every Friday, but Barskih did not say which prime show will feature his songs.
“Don’t be afraid to change my songs”
In the clip Barskih sits facing the contestants and asks which songs they have chosen and how it is going. He explains to one of them that even if the song changes, it must above all become her own. He wrote the same under the video: “And in general, don’t be afraid to change my songs. The main thing is that you feel they are your own.”
He was especially curious about the translations into Ukrainian: sometimes, he says, songs sound completely different afterwards. And if some versions really impress him, he may add them to his own set. Barskih called the contestants very cool and charismatic.
Back where it all began
“We’ve come to the place where it all began,” Barskih says at the start of the clip. He made his debut on Fabryka Zirok in 2008, in the show’s second season. Now the project has returned on SWEET.TV after a 15-year break, and its mentor and judge is Alan Badoev, Barskih’s producer. A gala concert announcing the winner is planned for 29 November at the Palace of Sports in Kyiv.
This year the artist also reached the twentieth concert of his OPEN AIR FEST tour, an anniversary show in Kryvyi Rih. On our air Barskih has been played 39 times in the last 30 days: V tvoikh ochakh and Dance in remix versions.
In May we reported that Max Barskih released Liudyna dlia mene.
