Mariah Carey has reissued “Glitter”, the album people laughed at for years. It hurt her to watch
For its 25th anniversary, the record now runs to 27 tracks, with vault recordings and new remixes added. And the “Loverboy” video is available digitally for the first time since 2001, restored in 4K.

Mariah Carey released an anniversary edition of Glitter on 30 October to mark the album's 25th anniversary. It has 27 tracks: 15 recordings were added to the original, including vault material, new remixes and a live medley.
The Loverboy video came out on the singer's YouTube channel, and the album on streaming services.
Carey says: “I made this album with so much love and care, so it was devastating to watch it become a punchline.” She thanks the fans who have stood up for the record all these years: in 2018 the #JusticeForGlitter campaign took the album to number one on the iTunes chart.
What came out of the vault
The additions include Lead The Way (1997 Version), Want You (Mariah Only Version), an alternate take of Out Here On My Own and an a cappella All My Life. There are also working recordings of Never Too Far, the Never Too Far / Hero medley with Westlife and a live Glitter Medley from the Caution tour.
The new versions come from Channel Tres (All My Life), Rochelle Jordan (Didn't Mean To Turn You On), and MJ Cole and Club Of Love (Loverboy). This is also the first vinyl edition of Glitter since 2001.
The video that was missing from digital
For the anniversary, the Loverboy video featuring the band Cameo was restored in 4K from the original 35 mm film. David LaChapelle shot it in 2001 at the LA County Raceway in California, and it has not been available digitally or on streaming services since. The song itself is built on Candy by Cameo, who recorded new vocal parts for it.
On 17 November Carey begins her Christmas tour: São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Birmingham, London's The O2, Manchester, Valletta and Abu Dhabi. Her songs are on our air too: 22 plays in the past month, most often My All in the David Morales mix.
Toni Braxton also has an anniversary this year: her “Un-Break My Heart” turned 30.
