Elderbrook announces his fourth album. He wrote its first song while packing his bags
The record comes out in January on a label from the Ninja Tune family, and you’ve already heard four of its ten songs. One of them is Elderbrook’s most-played track on our airwaves.

Elderbrook has announced his fourth studio album, Heart on a Wire. The ten-track record comes out on 22 January 2027 on Counter Records, an imprint of the British label Ninja Tune. The announcement on 13 October came with a new single, Lost in the View, which opens the album.
The release date and tracklist were published by Ninja Tune, while the musician himself announced the album on his Facebook.
“I’ve put so much love into this and I genuinely can’t wait for you to hear it,” Elderbrook wrote. The album is already available to pre-order: it will be released on transparent blue vinyl, CD and digitally.
A song about moving across the ocean
Elderbrook wrote Lost in the View while moving from London to Los Angeles. The song is full of ocean tides, distance and the search for home, and Punctual, Rome C and Jacob Manson are credited as co-writers. He road-tested it ahead of release: the day before it came out, he said he had played the song in Brazil that week and that seeing how much the crowd loved it was incredible.
The video was directed by Wyatt Stromer, a director and cinematographer who has already shot Elderbrook’s videos for Never Get Enough and Staring at the Sun. This time it is in black and white: the musician sings in the middle of a wall of speakers while a couple dances in the rain nearby.
“Making Heart on a Wire felt like reconnecting with the instincts that first drew me to music. I wanted to approach the album more from an indie music point of view, following ideas wherever they led and letting the songs take shape naturally,” Elderbrook explained.

The album includes all four singles Elderbrook has released on Counter Records this year: Is It Over Now? (28 May, his first release on the new label), Staring at the Sun with Rules (16 July), Never Get Enough with the Trilogy Group Choir (8 September) and Lost in the View. Rules also appears on Without You, while British producer Tourist features on If I Ever Fall In Love Again and Heaven; Elderbrook has previously recorded Howl with him for the album Little Love.
Elderbrook’s previous albums are Why Do We Shake in the Cold? (2020), Little Love (2023) and Another Touch (2024). Of all his tracks, the one we play most often on air is the IONITY Remix of Is It Over Now? — more than a hundred and fifty times since August. And his older track Inner Light with Bob Moses got a second life this summer: after a GTA VI video, it topped Shazam’s global viral chart.
One of the singles from the upcoming album, Staring at the Sun with Rules, was released by Elderbrook in July — he called it a song about memories of youth.
