Trentemøller releases a song with Sune Rose Wagner. The melody is happy — the words aren't
The Raveonettes singer has reunited with the Danish producer more than a decade after their first song together. Trentemøller's new album is two weeks away.

Trentemøller has released Your Love Walks Alone, featuring vocals by Sune Rose Wagner of Danish duo The Raveonettes. It is the third single from his new album trentemøller, out November 13 on the musician's own label, In My Room.
The music video was released on Trentemøller's YouTube channel.
Wagner himself describes the song as the story of a pure love slowly fading away — and of the moment you realize you've been “replaced.” Trentemøller says the vocal melody came out almost “happy,” even though the lyrics are fairly dark, and it's exactly that contrast that holds the song together over its heavy, insistent sound.
More than a decade after “Deceive”
Wagner has sung for Trentemøller before, on Deceive from the 2013 album Lost. “Ever since Sune sang on my track ‘Deceive,’ we'd been talking about doing another song together. This time I had an instrumental that felt right for his voice, so I sent it over,” Trentemøller says in the video description. According to him, Wagner quickly sent back a vocal that is instantly recognizable as The Raveonettes.
The song is the sixth of the album's ten tracks. It follows Terrified with Jonas Bjerre of Mew (August 28) and Swerve with Sakura (September 25). The sound here is a long way from the dance floor: it's a dark ballad built from layers of heavy fuzz.
On tour next year
Trentemøller will take the new album on tour next year. One of the first dates announced is March 11 at London's Electric Ballroom.
You can hear Trentemøller on our station too: over the past month we've played his Le Champagne ten times. Now a much darker song will join it.
In late September, we reported how Trentemøller released “Swerve” with Sakura and why he never actually met the singers on his new album.
