Lady Gaga takes charge of her own beauty brand — and now she's responsible for more than the makeup
The singer has become CEO of Haus Labs, replacing the brand's co-founder. The move comes just weeks after she had to publicly apologize over a new bronzer.

Lady Gaga has become chief executive of her beauty brand Haus Labs by Lady Gaga. The appointment takes effect immediately: on top of the creative direction and product development she already oversaw, she now also runs the business side of the company.
The appointment was first reported by The Business of Fashion, with further details from TheIndustry.beauty.
Gaga replaces the brand's co-founder Ben Jones, who left the company earlier in October. Before Haus Labs, Jones was chief digital officer at The Honest Company, the business founded by actress Jessica Alba. “I have a lot of vision for this brand, and we have so much more we want to do,” Gaga said in an exclusive statement to The Business of Fashion.
From Amazon to Sephora
Gaga launched the brand in 2019 as Haus Laboratories, and it became the first beauty brand to be sold exclusively on Amazon. In 2022 it was relaunched with Sephora as Haus Labs by Lady Gaga, with new vegan formulas not tested on animals.
The appointment came shortly after a high-profile controversy over the Sun Dipped Bronzing Veil bronzer. It was due to launch in six shades, but after testing the product, content creator Golloria criticized the range for not working on darker skin. The launch was put on hold, the number of shades was increased to eleven, and on October 1 Gaga publicly apologized, admitting that the original decision had been a mistake.
Meanwhile, on air
Beauty isn't Gaga's only business away from the stage. In August, she and Michael Polansky unveiled Outer Bio, a research company that studies skin health.
Not that there's any less music. Runway, the song Gaga recorded with Doechii for “The Devil Wears Prada 2,” is one of the most played tracks on our station: over the past month we've played it 73 times.
Ukrainian choreographer Maryna Kushchova has worked with Lady Gaga in the past. She also created the choreography for the English-language debut of DOROFEEVA, the “Feel the Heat” video.
