An industrial complex on Modlińska becomes a club: Warsaw is opening Sektor 6D
The new large venue launches on 11 September with a drum & bass party headlined by Sub Focus. Charlotte de Witte, CamelPhat and Duke Dumont are in the pipeline.
A new large venue opens in Warsaw next month: Sektor 6D. It sits on Modlińska Street, in a former industrial complex.
This was reported by Resident Advisor.
The organisers describe it as a large-scale cultural and entertainment space combining industrial architecture with modern event infrastructure, expansive visuals and a high-powered sound system.
The opening is drum & bass
The first party is set for 11 September and is given over entirely to drum & bass. The headliner is Sub Focus, joined on the bill by Hybrid Minds, Grafix, Nero and Shandrill.
What comes after the opening
From there the programme spreads across genres: the organisers name Charlotte de Witte, CamelPhat, Holy Priest and Duke Dumont. After a debut night of bass, in other words, the venue heads straight into techno and house.
For Warsaw this is a notable addition: the city does not have many large rooms built for electronic music and designed to run all year, and industrial buildings usually take years to convert for it. Whether Sektor 6D can hold the pace after a loud start will become clear this autumn.
As reported earlier by ONE//FM, the Polish scene is pulling in names it had not seen before this year — Lane 8 is finally making it to Poland for the first time in his career.
