The Dovzhenko Film Studio turns into a dancefloor again: Brave! Factory names 70-plus artists
The seventh edition of the Kyiv festival has announced its biggest line-up since the start of the full-scale invasion. Two days on the grounds of a working film studio — 22 and 23 August.
Kyiv’s Brave! Factory has revealed the line-up for its seventh edition — more than 70 artists. It is the festival’s biggest bill since the start of the full-scale invasion in 2022.
Mixmag reported the announcement.
Among the names are Batu from the UK, Japan’s DJ Masda, plus Marco Shuttle, Sweely and Wallace. The Ukrainian scene is represented by Roman K, Ponura, Borys and others.
The festival returns to the grounds of the Oleksandr Dovzhenko National Film Studio, where sound stages become music stages for two days. This is not a set built for a festival but a working production facility, and that is what gives the site a look no club could copy.
The dates are 22 and 23 August. According to the official ticket seller, the first day starts at 14:00 and everything ends on the evening of the 23rd.
The figure “70-plus” carries more weight here than usual. In recent years Ukrainian festivals have lived in a mode of shrinking: curfews, air raid alerts, the risk around bringing in foreign artists. A return to that scale says more about the scene’s resilience than about any record.
A seventh edition means the festival is older than the full-scale war: it took shape before 2022 and did not disappear afterwards.
For the Ukrainian electronic scene Brave! Factory remains one of the few events that foreign artists knowingly travel to — which is exactly why its line-up gets read as a barometer.
