Jessie Ware made her sixth album her own boss: ‘Superbloom’ arrived with a cowboy, Morricone and the first key change of her life

Thirteen tracks, five producers and the blessing of Ennio Morricone’s estate.

Jessie Ware has released ‘Superbloom’ — her sixth studio album and her first full-length since ‘That! Feels Good!’ in 2023. It came out on 17 April 2026 on EMI Records.

The Apple Music catalogue records it.

The album was announced on 29 January 2026. Thirteen entries, two of them short interludes: ‘The Garden Prelude’ at 48 seconds opens the record, ‘Chariots of Love Interlude’ at 28 seconds splits it in half. The longest track is ‘16 Summers’.

Her own A&R

As on ‘What’s Your Pleasure?’ (2020), Ware remained her own A&R — that is, she answered for the artistic decisions herself. She brought in five producers: James Ford, Barney Lister, Karma Kid, Jon Shave and Stuart Price. The record was mixed by Ben Baptie.

She explains the shift herself.

“I’ve been trying out this fantasy world and escapism. I’m not the most by-the-book ‘pop star’, but I do like to play with dress-up, glamour, and fun. While I love dance music, I wanted to dig deeper with this record; to connect with real relationships and appreciate the love I have, and the fears I have of losing it.”

The lead single ‘I Could Get Used to This’ came out on 23 January 2026, produced and co-written by Miranda Cooper and Jon Shave of Xenomania together with Sophia Brenan. It contains the first key change of Ware’s career.

Morricone’s estate gave the nod

The second single, ‘Ride’, arrived on 20 February and opens with a synth quotation of the main theme from ‘The Good, the Bad and the Ugly’ (1966). The estate of Ennio Morricone approved the quotation — Ware called it a genuine seal of approval. It was the first song written for the album: she made it back in 2024 with Jack Peñate and Karma Kid.

“‘Ride’ was the first song I wrote for this record. I made it in 2024 with my best friend Jack Peñate and Karma Kid, who feature throughout the album. It’s a song for the clubs, for the dancefloor — fun, cinematic, cheeky and powerful. I first performed it at NYC Downlow at Glastonbury after headlining West Holts, and I’ve been waiting two years to finally put it out,” she said.

The black-and-white video for ‘Ride’ was directed by Thomas James, with the actor James Norton as her cowboy love interest. Ware invited him after running into him at a concert by their mutual friend — that same Peñate.

The Superbloom Tour begins in October 2026 — the first test of how this material works outside the studio, where she was both the artist and her own boss.
