Purple Disco Machine releases “Test My Luck” with MEEK — first track from his space-inspired album

The album itself will not arrive until spring 2027, and it promises to sound like a journey from Pink Floyd and Jean-Michel Jarre to European disco. The first single, for now, is simply a dance-floor anthem.

Purple Disco Machine has released the single Test My Luck with British singer MEEK. The track came out on October 2 and is the first taste of his fourth studio album, COSMOTROPIA.

The artist posted the lyric video on his official channel.

The album is due on April 30, 2027. According to the announcement, it will draw on the cosmic disco and space rock of the 1970s and 1980s — records by Pink Floyd, Alan Parsons, Kraftwerk, Vangelis and Jean-Michel Jarre — as well as on European disco from France, Italy and Germany.

What “Test My Luck” sounds like

The first single does not reveal the space theme just yet. The release notes describe it as what Purple Disco Machine does best: a big, uplifting track that hooks you from the very first seconds. It is built on bright production, warm keys and an eighties disco-rock kick drum.

MEEK adds a modern pop delivery with an indie-rock edge: her vocal balances confidence and vulnerability. In five days, the lyric video racked up almost 100,000 views.

MEEK is based in London and spent years writing for other artists — Rita Ora, Martin Garrix, R3HAB and Alan Walker — and she sang on Walker’s hit Dancing In Love. Her solo breakthrough came with the single Fabulous, which climbed to No. 32 on the Billboard pop chart this year.

Back after a break

In the summer, Purple Disco Machine had to halt his tour because of sudden hearing loss. Now he is back on stage: he has just closed his residency season at Pacha in Ibiza, and on November 13 he will bring his La Discothèque show to Drumsheds in London. In autumn 2027, he will take the new album across Europe with a full live band, dancers and vocalists.

Purple Disco Machine is the German producer Tino Piontek from Dresden. Before COSMOTROPIA, he released three albums — Soulmatic, Exotica and Paradise — and his remix of Lizzo’s About Damn Time won him a Grammy.

“Test My Luck” is a warm-up before a long journey: for now, it is Piontek’s familiar disco, while the cosmos promised by the album’s title is still ahead.

Earlier, we wrote about how Purple Disco Machine halted his tour because of sudden hearing loss — and how he explained it by admitting that he is not a machine after all.
