A track road-tested in clubs for months finally got a release: Adam Port and SG Lewis put out ‘Be The One’
It all started with a chance meeting in Los Angeles between the two Coachella weekends of 2023.
Adam Port and SG Lewis have finally released ‘Be The One’ — a track that until now lived only in DJ sets. It came out on 24 April 2026 on the Berlin label Keinemusik under catalogue number KM075.
The song runs 3 minutes 26 seconds. The magazine CULTR told the story of how it came about on release day.
How the track came about
It began by accident: the musicians crossed paths in Los Angeles in 2023, in the gap between the two weekends of the Coachella festival. The track was then road-tested on dancefloors for months — and that is where the anticipation that greeted it came from.
“I have been a fan of Keinemusik long before Adam and I met in 2023. Our mutual appreciation of emotive dance music made for a very natural collaboration process in the studio, and ‘Be The One’ was a result of wanting to create a song that soundtracks the moment on the dance floor when the sun rises,” SG Lewis says.

Keinemusik is at once a Berlin collective and a label, one of the most influential in contemporary house. Port is one of its four founders and has worked in that crew since 2009. His signature sound is recognisable less for what is in it than for what is not: no wasted movement.
Port has described his approach to sound like this.
“Trying to make music that doesn’t sound outdated in 10 or 20 years. Sometimes it works, sometimes not.”
“I like the organic sound and dirt in music so I use found sounds, atmosphere and room in the background of my music. This helps to stop it sounding computer generated.”
Samuel George Lewis, better known as SG Lewis, came from the other direction — nu-disco and house with a warm, almost nostalgic tint. He is just as sure-footed producing for others: his credits include work with Elton John and Dua Lipa.
The label announced a vinyl edition right after the digital one — for a track that spent three years living only in other people’s sets, that is the end of the road.
