Ivan NAVI releases “Niby v nebi” — a song for those looking at the same star from different cities
The song premiered on September 23. Dmytro Sysoiev wrote both the lyrics and the music, and the singer himself explains why people are craving a sense of lightness right now.

Ivan NAVI has released the song Niby v nebi (“As If in the Sky”). It premiered on September 23 on his official YouTube channel, and the song landed on streaming platforms the same day.
The singer posted the song on his official channel.
Dmytro Sysoiev wrote the lyrics and music, and Andrii Bakun handled the music production. The song came out on MOVA Music, the label Ivan NAVI has worked with since the very start of his career.
What the song is about
It is a song about that special state when you simply delight in a loved one’s smile and believe in something eternal. The singer says he wanted to capture the feeling of lightness that everyone is missing right now.
“You know, there is this unifying moment — looking together at the same star in the sky while being hundreds of kilometers apart. Right now a lot of people are far away from the ones they love. But love has such power that it can fill you up and give you wings, wherever you are,” says Ivan NAVI.
Ivan NAVI isn’t the only one singing about long-distance love this fall: Jerry Heil and Sviatoslav Vakarchuk in their song Dvi vesny (“Two Springs”) also sing about a feeling that holds strong across cities and borders. In a country where the war has forced many couples to live apart, this stopped being a metaphor long ago.
Who is Ivan NAVI
Ivan NAVI is the stage name of Lviv singer Ivan Siarkevych. Kuzma Skriabin suggested the name after spotting him on the show Spivai yak zirka (“Sing Like a Star”) in 2015. He has been with MOVA Music since 2016, and his debut music video Taki molodi (“So Young”) quickly climbed into the top three most popular videos in Ukraine.
In 2020 he became the most-rotated artist on Ukrainian radio stations, and his Koly nema tebe (“When You’re Not Here”) was named song of the year. He was singing in Ukrainian back when that was far from an obvious choice for the pop scene.
“Niby v nebi” carries that line forward: a short, bright, unpretentious song about how everyone shares the same star overhead, however far apart people may be.
