Arkadia sees out the season: KADNAY play Odesa on 26 August, and two days later MONATIK takes the same stage
The band's big summer concert takes place at the Ibiza Beach Club, with tickets from 600 hryvnias. It is one of the rare cases where the Ukrainian scene closes the beach season with its own bill.
The band KADNAY gives a big summer concert in Odesa: on 26 August they play the Ibiza Beach Club in Arkadia.
The date is confirmed by the venue's own listing.
Tickets start at 600 hryvnias. It is not the only Ukrainian date of the week at this venue: on 28 August MONATIK performs on the same stage.
A Ukrainian bill instead of an imported one
A few years ago, the end of the season at southern venues mostly meant foreign names. Now the last days of August in Arkadia are held by two Ukrainian concerts in a row — and this is not a charity format but the ordinary ticket market.
KADNAY are a Kyiv band working on the edge of indie pop and electronics: their releases hold live instruments, a dance beat and a vocal melodic sense closer to European writing than to the post-Soviet school.
Why it is worth seeing live
A beach club is a specific venue: it does not forgive weak mixing and it shows whether a band holds its sound without studio support. For KADNAY that is rather an advantage — their material is written for a dancefloor, not for headphones.
The club's summer programme is dense this week: on 21 August Alena Omargalieva performed here, on the 22nd the project S.V.E.T., and NIKOW plays on the 27th. But the two biggest Ukrainian names on that bill stand next to each other — 26 and 28 August — and they are what makes the end of the season in Arkadia Ukrainian by line-up, not merely by geography.
As reported earlier by ONE//FM, MONATIK heads to Europe after the Ukrainian summer — with a finale at London's Indigo at The O2.
