PROSTIR FEST runs on 21–23 August at Poble Espanyol on Montjuïc. Tickets start at 59 euros for a day and 99 for the full pass.
Barcelona hosts PROSTIR FEST on 21–23 August — a festival the organisers call the first large-scale survey of contemporary Ukrainian music in Europe.
The line-up and prices are published on the festival's site.
The venue is Poble Espanyol, the open-air museum on Montjuïc hill. Doors open at 18:00, the show starts at 19:00 and runs until 23:00.
Four names on the bill are in our rotation
For us this line-up reads like our own listing: Max Barskih, Jerry Heil, DOROFEEVA and Klavdia Petrivna play constantly on ONE//FM. The third day gathers those the Ukrainian scene has pushed to the top in recent years — from KAZKA to Ziferblat.
Single-day tickets start at 59 euros, a three-day pass at 99, and Platinum VIP at 499 euros per day.
Why Barcelona
There are many Ukrainian events in Europe, but almost all of them are either a single artist's concert or a cultural evening at an embassy. PROSTIR FEST differs in scale: three days in a row, twelve names and a venue normally held by international promoters.
The dates were not chosen at random either: the festival ends on 23 August, the day before the 35th anniversary of Independence. For the hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians now living in Europe, this is the nearest chance to spend the holiday away from home but not alone.
As reported earlier by ONE//FM, the Ukrainian scene already showed this summer that it can work at scale: Vyrii. Prostoneba drew seventeen thousand people to VDNG.
