RÜFÜS DU SOL and HUGEL will open the renovated XS: the Wynn Las Vegas club returns after three months of works
One of the best-known clubs in Las Vegas closed for renovation at the end of summer and reopens in November with four nights in a row — from RÜFÜS DU SOL to Diplo b2b HUGEL.
The club XS at the Wynn Las Vegas complex is returning after a three-month renovation: the relaunch is set for November and stretched across four consecutive nights.
This was reported by Resident Advisor.
The club shut at the end of summer; Wynn Nightlife describes the refit as "a new era" without disclosing what exactly changed inside.
A club running since 2008
XS opened on 31 December 2008 and has stayed one of the Strip's main venues ever since — a place whose residencies are held by artists whose names sell the tickets on their own.
The interesting part of this announcement is not the renovation but the make-up of those four nights. It shows where Vegas is looking now: not towards classic big room but towards a melodic, almost festival-shaped sound.
Two names from the bill are in our rotation
For our air this bill is a special one: RÜFÜS DU SOL and HUGEL are both names that play constantly on ONE//FM. That they close a four-day relaunch of the biggest club in Vegas says a great deal about how far the melodic line has moved from niche status.
Wynn Nightlife says nothing concrete about the refit itself: not about the sound system, not about the layout of the room, not about whether the capacity has changed. Judgement will have to wait for the first nights in November — which is exactly why the make-up of those four nights reads as a statement.
As ONE//FM wrote earlier, Ukrainian electronic music needed thirty-five years to reach the big stages — and today it appears on the same bills as the heroes of Vegas.
